A visit to the Uhlovitsa Cave and the spring of the Arda River

Uhlovitsa Cave is located in the Rhodope Mountains, 3 kilometers north-east of the village of Mogilitsa. Steep, almost vertical stairs lead to its entrance. Uhlovitsa is one of the oldest caves in the region, of very beautiful dendrite structures, resembling sea corals. The cave ends with seven incredibly beautiful lakes which are full of water in the early spring. The stone spurts of a brilliant summer waterfall flow into the biggest of the lakes. The cave Uhlovitsa is located at 1040 meters above sea level and the temperature inside it is 10-11°С all the year round.
