Trigrad - Chaira Lakes - Devin


The Municipality of Devin is extremely rich in natural sights and spots such as gorges, caves, rock formations, protected areas and nature reserves with endemic plant and animal species. Many natural phenomena will take your breath away: the Trigrad Gorge, the urbanized Devil’s Throat Cave and the Yagodinska Cave. These are pearls in the crown of Devin Region where every tourist has the chance to dip into the underworld kingdom and to feast his or her eyes on unforgettable view. In the Trigrad Yagodina Karst region there are a lot of unurbanized caves, such as the Haramiiska, the Orpheus’ Hole, Kestenska, and other. The picturesque spots - "Lesichevo", "Amzovo", "Izvora", "Struilitsa", the phenomenal rock formation "The Elephant", "The Kemerov Bridge" belong to a world of majesty, which calls for admiration and poetic delight. The protected area called Chairite impresses the visitors with the fantastic lakes resulting from a landslide, meadows and spruce and beech forests one of which is the natural phenomena Piana Gora (The Drunk Forest). Devin Region houses three nature reserves - "Kastraklii", "Kazanite", "Old Forest" ("Shabanitsa"), which have virgin pine and spruce forests aged 200-350 years and aged and protected plant and animal communities.
