A visit to the Devil’s Throat Cave

The Devil's Throat Cave is a precipitous cave in which the water of an underground fall comes down from 60 meters height. A manmade passage of 150 meters length leads to a hall of impressive size. Steep winding stairs starting from the hall lead to the natural entrance of the cave. The cave is electrified and the stairs hanging over the roaring waters of the underground waterfall are made safe with concrete railing. The temperature in the cave is 8°C. The legend says that this is the place where Orpheus entered the underworld kingdom of Hades to save his beloved Eurydice.
