A visit to the Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory

Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory is located at about 14 km distance from the town of Chepelare and at 15 km distance from Pamporovo Resort. Its altitude is 1 720- 1 750 m above sea level and it is one of the largest European observatory complexes in the field of optical astrophysics. It has 4 telescopes, the biggest one being the two-meter reflector. The visit may be combined with a visit to the Planetarium in Smolyan, which makes the NAO a unique tourist destination.
